Everything you need to know about TideSwap.
General
TideSwap is a decentralized exchange (DEX) interface built on Ink, a Layer 2 blockchain created by Kraken. It aggregates liquidity from multiple DEXs on Ink to find you the best swap price, and provides tools for limit orders, cross-chain bridging, portfolio tracking, and yield discovery — all in one place.
Ink is an Ethereum Layer 2 built on the OP Stack by Kraken. It offers fast, low-cost transactions while inheriting Ethereum's security. Ink uses ETH for gas fees.
No. TideSwap is fully decentralized. Just connect your wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, etc.) and start trading. We never ask for personal information, email, or KYC.
Trading
TideSwap uses the 0x Swap API, which aggregates liquidity from multiple DEXs on Ink including Velodrome, DYOR, InkySwap, and professional market makers. The 0x smart order routing algorithm splits your trade across sources to minimize price impact and maximize your return.
TideSwap charges a 0.15% fee on each swap, which is included in the quoted price. You also pay standard Ink network gas fees (typically less than $0.01). There are no hidden fees.
TideSwap supports all major tokens on Ink with verified 0x liquidity, including ETH, WETH, USDC, USDC.e, USDT0, GHO, oUSDT, kBTC, SolvBTC, weETH, and XAUT0. You can also import any token by pasting its contract address.
Slippage is the difference between the expected price and the actual execution price. It occurs when market conditions change between when you request a quote and when your transaction is confirmed. You can adjust your slippage tolerance in the swap settings.
Limit orders let you set a target price for a trade. Your order will execute automatically when the market reaches your specified price. This feature is currently in beta — orders are monitored client-side, so keep your browser tab open for best results.
Bridge
Use the Bridge tab to transfer tokens from any supported chain (Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, etc.) to Ink. Bridging is powered by LI.FI, which finds the fastest and cheapest route across multiple bridge protocols.
Most bridges complete within 1–15 minutes depending on the source chain and bridge protocol used. You can track your bridge transaction status in the Bridge tab.
Security
TideSwap is a non-custodial interface — we never hold your funds. All trades are executed through audited smart contracts (0x settlement contracts). Token approvals are set to exact amounts only (not unlimited). Your private keys never leave your wallet.
TideSwap's frontend has undergone a security review covering all API routes, smart contract interactions, and token approval flows. The underlying protocols (0x, Uniswap V2, LI.FI) have their own independent security audits.
If a swap fails, your tokens remain in your wallet — you only lose the gas fee for the failed transaction. If you experience issues, check the transaction on the Ink explorer or contact us at support@tideswap.app.
